Introduction:

Sanwei Valve's check valves employ weighted disc mechanisms to ensure reliable backflow prevention, available in lift-type (globe valve-like design) and swing-type (rotating disc) configurations. The lift check valves provide tight sealing with vertical disc movement, while swing check valves offer low-pressure drop with a hinged disc design. Primarily used in water systems, these valves are often paired with globe valves for complete flow control, though they may introduce higher flow resistance compared to other designs. Engineered for industrial applications, Sanwei's check valves deliver durable performance with robust construction, suitable for HVAC, plumbing, and process piping where reverse flow prevention is critical.

Application:

01. Function of Check Valves Check valves allow media flow in only one direction, preventing backflow. They typically operate automatically: the disc opens under the fluid pressure in the forward direction, and when the fluid flows in the opposite direction, the fluid pressure and the self-closing disc seal against the valve seat to cut off the flow.

02. Types of Check Valves Check valves can be mainly divided into: Swing Check Valves: These have a rotating disc that moves according to the center of gravity. The disc rests against the sloping seat surface and swings freely to seal the valve when necessary. Lift Check Valves: These valves feature a disc that moves along the axis, lifting and lowering to open and close the valve depending on the direction of flow.

03. Swing Check Valve Design The swing check valve has a medium hinge mechanism and a door-like disc that rests freely on the sloped seat. This design ensures that the disc swings fully and contacts the seat for an effective seal. The disc may be made of metal or have a leather, rubber, or synthetic overlay based on performance requirements. When fully open, the valve experiences minimal pressure drop.
