Foot valve is an energy-saving valve installed at the bottom of a pump's underwater suction pipe. It prevents liquid backflow, allowing one-way flow. The valve cover has multiple water inlets and reinforcing ribs to block solids, preventing clogging. Used in water pumping pipelines.
 

Features:

The cast steel flange foot valve is a critical component in pumping systems, designed to ensure unidirectional flow and prevent backflow when the pump is inactive. It consists of a durable cast steel valve body, a disc (or clapper), a cover, and a sealing ring (typically made of rubber or synthetic materials for enhanced leak-proof performance).

When the pump operates, the suction pressure lifts the disc, allowing water or other fluids to enter the pipeline. Once the pump stops, the reverse water pressure forces the disc back onto the seat, creating a tight seal that prevents backflow and maintains prime in the system. This mechanism not only improves pumping efficiency but also reduces energy loss by avoiding repeated repriming.

Cast steel construction ensures high strength, corrosion resistance, and long service life, making it suitable for demanding industrial, agricultural, and municipal water supply applications. Some advanced models may include stainless steel internals or EPDM seals for better chemical resistance.
